Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission
On 25th October, 2021, Prime Minister launched the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
- Hailed as one of the largest pan-India schemes for strengthening healthcare infrastructure, it seeks to address three critical gaps in India’s public health sector: augmenting health facilities for treatment; setting up of Integrated Public Health labs for diagnosis of disease, and expansion of existing research institutions that study pandemics.
- It is in addition to the National Health Mission.
