Siachen Glacier Now Open to Tourists
Defence Minister of India recently announced that the Siachen Glacier will be open for tourists, between the base camp and Kumar logistics base. The step has been taken to boost tourism in Ladakh and give people a window to appreciate the tough work done by army jawans and engineers in extreme weather and inhospitable terrains.

- As of now, civilian tourists are restricted to the Nubra Valley, which is the gateway to the Siachen Glacier, and well away from the base camp and the Siachen Battle School.
