State Food Safety Index 2019-20
- Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has released the results of the second State Food Safety Index during a webinar conducted on the occasion of “World Food Safety Day” on June 7on the theme “Food Safety is everyone’s business”.
- The State Food Safety Index ranks states on following five parameters of food safety:
- Human Resources and Institutional Data
- Compliance
- Food Testing Facility
- Training
- Capacity Building besides Consumer Empowerment.
- Winners of the Index are distributed in three categories: Large state; Small state and Union Territories.
- In 2019-2020 top three winners in large states are Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra; in Small States-Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya and in ....
