E-Governance Initiatives for ST Welfare Schemes
- On 12th June, 2019, Ministry of Tribal Affairs launched e-governance initiatives for welfare schemes for Scheduled Tribes (ST) in the form of two digital portals-Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)Tribal and NGO Grants Online Application and Tracking System.
- In DBT Tribal portal, there are 3 main modules for Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship. Data sharing module is mainly meant for sharing beneficiary-data by States.
Need for Such Action
- Absence of established mechanism: There is no established mechanism for collecting data from the States or collating it. States provide data in different formats and different mechanisms ranging from printouts to various digital formats, making collation ....
