Cabinet Approves Formation of 22nd Law Commission
On 19th February 2019, the Union Cabinet gave its approval to set up the 22nd Law Commission. The term of the previous law panel ended in August 2019. The Law Ministry will now notify the new panel.

- The Law Commission is an executive body which advises the government on complex legal issues and has a term of three years.
- Apart from having a full-time chairperson, the commission will have four full-time members, including a member-secretary.
