Regional 3R and Circular Economy Forum

On 5th March 2025, the 12th Regional 3R and Circular Economy Forum in Asia and the Pacific concluded with the adoption of the Jaipur Declaration, reinforcing regional commitments to resource efficiency, sustainable material consumption, and improved waste management.

  • India proposed the ‘Cities Coalition for Circularity’ (C-3), a global alliance to facilitate knowledge sharing and city-to-city collaboration on circular economy practices.
  • India announced its candidacy to host the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026, aligning with its sustainability vision and ‘Pro Planet People’ (P-3) approach.
  • CITIIS 2.0 initiative was launched, securing agreements worth Rs.1,800 crore for integrated waste management and climate action projects across 18 cities in 14 states.
  • The ‘India Pavilion’ and ‘3R Trade and Technology Exhibition’ featured over 40 Indian and Japanese businesses showcasing innovative waste management solutions, along with engaging discussions like the ‘Mayors’ Dialogue’ and ‘Case Clinic’.
