​NIA Records 100% Conviction Rate in 2024

On 31st December, 2024, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced that it has achieved a historic 100% conviction rate in 2024, securing the conviction of 68 accused across 25 high-profile cases.

  • The NIA arrested 210 accused individuals across 80 cases, with Left Wing Extremism and North East insurgency topping the list, accounting for 28 and 18 cases, respectively.
  • The agency's efforts also targeted terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, with seven cases, and included six cases involving explosive substances, as well as five related to human trafficking.
  • Additional cases involved terrorism linked to Khalistan, ISIS, gangsters, cyber terrorism, counterfeit currency, and other criminal categories.
  • In addition to the 68 convictions, NIA registered charges against 408 accused individuals, underscoring the agency’s efficient legal strategies.
  • The agency's rigorous investigations and meticulous legal strategies were credited for this landmark success in securing convictions and bringing criminals to justice.
