President Appoints New Governors for Five States

On 24th December 2024, President Droupadi Murmu approved the appointment of new Governors for five states, leading to key changes in gubernatorial leadership across the country.

Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, the current Governor of Mizoram, has been appointed as the new Governor of Odisha, following the resignation of Raghubar Das.
Former Union Minister General Vijay Kumar Singh has been named the Governor of Mizoram, replacing Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati.
Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who is currently serving as Governor of Bihar, will now take charge as the Governor of Kerala, succeeding Arif Mohammed Khan.
Arif Mohammed Khan, the outgoing Governor of Kerala, has been transferred to Bihar as its new Governor.
Ajay Kumar Bhalla, former Home Secretary of India, has been appointed as the Governor of Manipur.
