On 22th November 2024, the E-Daakhil portal became operational across all states and union territories in India, marking a significant milestone.

  • The E-Daakhil portal, launched under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, offers a user-friendly platform for filing consumer complaints online without requiring physical presence.
  • It was introduced on September 7, 2020, by the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC).
  • Consumers or advocates can sign up on the portal using OTP-based mobile authentication or email activation, making the complaint process seamless and paperless.
  • As of now, over 2,81,024 users are registered on the platform, with 1,98,725 cases filed and 38,453 cases disposed of, demonstrating its growing impact.
  • Success stories include a Sambalpur case awarding compensation for a defective product and an Andaman case resolving a UPI transaction error, reflecting the portal’s efficiency in addressing grievances.
  • The government is also developing the e-Jagriti initiative, designed to enhance case filing, tracking, and management, further improving the consumer justice system.
