Compensation Scheme for Women Victims/Survivors of Sexual Assault/other Crimes – 2018
It was proposed by NALSA (National Legal Services Authority) in 2018 and seeks to ensure a uniform payment to victims of Sexual offences and other women specific offences.
Payment ensured under various heads:
Gang Rapes: Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh
Rape and Unnatural Sexual Assault: Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh
Victims of Acid Attacks: Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh in case of disfigurement of face.
The scheme also provides for the provision of setting up of Women Victims Compensation Fund from which the amount of compensation, as decided by the State Legal Services Authority or ....
