- Transboundary Animal Diseases (TADs) are highly contagious epidemic diseases. These cause high rates of death and disease in animals. They have serious socio-economic and sometimes serious public health consequences.
- Avian influenza (Bird Flu): This is a viral infection that primarily affects birds. This virus is a member of the Orthomyxoviridae family. Due to antigenic differences in the nuclear protein and matrix of this virus, it has been classified into types A, B, and C.
