Mandatory Blending of Compressed Biogas (CBG)
Recently, the government announced that India will begin blending compressed biogas with natural gas to enhance domestic demand and reduce reliance on natural gas imports.
- The mandatory blending will commence at 1% for use in automobiles and households from April 2025, with plans to increase the mandatory blending to around 5% by 2028.
