Green Energy Corridor

Phase 1 of the Green Energy Corridor is under implementation in the states of Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan.

  • It aims for the grid integration and power evacuation of about 24GW of Renewable Energy.
  • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the scheme on Green Energy Corridor (GEC) Phase-II on 6 January 2022 for Intra-State Transmission System (InSTS) for addition of approximately 10,750 circuit kilometres (ckm) of transmission lines and approx. 27,500 Mega Volt-Amperes (MVA) transformation capacity of substations.
