E-waste
Annual Growth: The annual growth rate of e-waste is very high (31%).
- It was 7.71 lakh tonnes in 2018-19 and 10.14 lakh tonnes in 2019-20.
E-waste Recyclers: There are 468 authorised dismantlers/recyclers in 22 states having a processing capacity of 13.85 lakh tonnes of e-waste in the country.
Schemes, Acts & Programs
E-Waste Management Rules, 2016: Over 21 products (Schedule-I) were included under the purview of the rule. It included Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) and other mercury containing lamps, as well as other such equipment.
