India Re-elected to IMO Council

On 1st December, 2023, India secured its re-election to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Council for the 2024-25 biennium with the highest vote tally during the Assembly in London.

  • India falls under the category of 10 states with "the largest interest in international seaborne trade," along with other nations like Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
