In a parliamentary democracy like India laws are made by the legislature and in the making of laws there is direct participation of the executive.
- The Judiciary is the interpreter of law and protector of Rights of Citizen. It remains independent and does not allow other organs of the state to go beyond the constitutional limits.
- Chapter IV of Part V containing Articles 124-147 of the Constitution contains provisions related to Union Judiciary.
- Chapters V and VI under Part VI containing Articles 214-237 contain the provisions of the High Courts in the States and Subordinate Courts.
