DRDO Tests Advanced VSHORADS Missile System
On 3-4th October 2024, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully tested the 4th Generation Very Short-Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS), marking a leap forward in India’s indigenous defence technology.
- DRDO conducted three successful flight-tests of the advanced VSHORADS missile system at the Pokhran Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan.
- The tests were performed against high-speed targets to validate critical performance parameters, including maximum range and maximum altitude interception.
- VSHORADS demonstrated hit-to-kill repeatability across various engagement modes, including approaching, receding, and crossing targets, showcasing its versatility and precision.
