Project Tiger
- The Project Tiger programme was launched in 1973 in Jim Corbett National Park of Uttarakhand in order to ensure the maintenance of available population of tigers in India and increase their numbers.
- The project aims at ensuring a viable population of tigers in their natural habitats, protecting them from extinction, and preserving the ecosystems of tigers forever.
