Impacts
- Pressure on Host Country’s Resources: A sudden, new population requires that the educational and healthcare institutions be modified. These increase the strain on the resources of the host nation.
- No Permanent Refuge: Unlike typical refugees, climate refugees may be expelled back to their destroyed country or coerced into a camp, creating a problem in their ability to support themselves.
- Unemployment: Internal migrants, or rural and coastal residents who are compelled to move to urban areas within their country, suffer a number of difficulties. They struggle to make a living because their abilities are not useful in cities.
