Green Hydrogen: India’s Path to a Sustainable Energy Future
- Mission Objective: Establish India as a global hub for Green Hydrogen production, usage, and export, advancing energy self-sufficiency.
- Production Target: 5 MMT annually by 2030, with potential growth to 10 MMT per year as export markets expand.
- Green Hydrogen will help transition key industries like steel, shipping, energy storage, and mobility, reducing CO₂ emissions by 50 MMT annually.
- Mission Funding: Rs.19,744 crore allocation, including:
- Rs.17,490 crore for the SIGHT programme
- Rs.1,466 crore for pilot projects
- Rs.400 crore for R&D
- Rs.388 crore for other components
- India is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070 and energy independence by 2047.
