India, Taiwan Ink Migration Agreement to Boost Bilateral Ties
On 16th February, 2024, India and Taiwan signed a migration and mobility agreement, enabling Indian workers to find employment in various sectors in Taiwan. This reflects a renewed cooperation between the two nations.
- Discussions over the pact had been ongoing for several years. The agreement will designate India as a "new source" country of migrant workers in Taiwan, with both sides engaging in follow-up discussions to finalize implementation procedures.
- Discussions will cover industries for Indian employment, job numbers, recruitment regions in India, qualifications, language skills, and recruitment methods.
