  • Rashtriya Gokul Mission: Government increased the allocation for Rashtriya Gokul Mission to Rs.750 crore. It also announced “Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog” to upscale sustainable genetic upgradation of cow resources and to enhance production and productivity of cows.

Aim of the Scheme

  • The “Rashtriya Gokul Mission” was launched in 2014 by the Government for conservation and development of indigenous breeds in a focused and scientific manner. The mission also envisages establishment of integrated cattle development centres, Gokul Grams to develop indigenous breeds including upto 40% non descript breeds.
