Sri Lanka Terror Attack
- A series of coordinated bombings were carried out on 21 April 2019 on ‘Easter Sunday’ at different locations in Sri Lanka which killed more than 250 people.
- The attacks were the deadliest in the island nation since the end of its civil war 10 years ago and targeted three churches and four luxury hotels.
- A majority of those killed in the attacks are Christians. At least 35 of those dead are foreigners including 10 Indians.
- As per the government, nine homegrown, well-educated suicide bombers carried out the attacks among whom one was a woman.
