  • The National Agroforestry Policy, introduced in 2014, promotes tree plantation on farmland to enhance agricultural productivity and soil health while providing additional income for farmers.
  • The Green India Mission (GIM) aims to increase forest and tree cover by 5 million hectares while improving ecosystem services like carbon sequestration and water conservation.
