Justice Harish Tandon Appointed Orissa HC Chief Justice

On 21st March 2025, Justice Harish Tandon was appointed as the next Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, following the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium and approval by the Law Ministry.

• His appointment comes after the retirement of Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh, who vacated the position in January 2025.
• The Supreme Court collegium had earlier this month recommended Justice Tandon’s elevation, which was subsequently approved by the Law Ministry.
• Justice Tandon has been serving as a judge in the Calcutta High Court since April 2010, marking nearly 15 years of judicial experience at the high court level.
