KHANJAR-XII: India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Military Exercise

On 10th March 2025, the 12th edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise KHANJAR-XII begin in Kyrgyzstan, running for 14 days until March 23, 2025, focusing on counterterrorism and special operations in high-altitude terrain.

  • The joint exercise aims to enhance cooperation by exchanging experiences and best practices in Counter-Terrorism and Special Forces Operations in urban and mountainous environments.
  • Both nations will train in advanced Special Forces skills, including sniping, complex building intervention, and mountain warfare techniques, to improve combat effectiveness.
  • Since its launch in 2011, KHANJAR has evolved into an annual military engagement, alternating between India and Kyrgyzstan to deepen strategic relations.
  • The last edition of the exercise was conducted in India in January 2024, continuing the long-standing military cooperation between the two nations.
