India Celebrates International Women’s Day

On 8th March 2025, International Women’s Day was observed across India today with national-level conferences, exhibitions, and initiatives aimed at empowering women and recognizing their contributions.

  • President Droupadi Murmu presided over the national-level conference on ‘Nari Shakti Se Viksit Bharat’ in New Delhi, which include a high-level panel discussion and three technical sessions.
  • Prime Minister marked the occasion by handing over his social media accounts for a day to inspiring women, allowing them to share their stories and achievements.
  • The National Commission for Women, in collaboration with the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad, organised the All India Women Advocates’ Conference, focusing on enhancing the role of women in building a resurgent India.
  • The conference emphasised the contributions of women lawyers, highlighting their leadership in shaping legal and social frameworks for gender equality.
