World Sustainable Development Summit 2025

On 5th March 2025, Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, inaugurated the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2025 in New Delhi, emphasizing India's leadership in global climate action and sustainable development.
- The summit, themed "Partnerships for Accelerating Sustainable Development and Climate Solutions," was organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and attended by key global leaders, including Guyana’s Prime Minister Brigadier Mark Phillip and Brazil’s Environment Minister Marina Silva.
- India aims to become a developed nation (Viksit Bharat) by 2047, with a net-zero emissions target by 2070, having already reduced its GDP emission intensity by 36% between 2005 and 2020.
