Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav

On 5th March 2025, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the annual cultural festival, ‘Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav’, at Rashtrapati Bhawan, celebrating India’s rich and diverse heritage.

  • The festival aims to showcase the cultural traditions, handicrafts, and performing arts of different regions of India, providing a platform for artisans and weavers.
  • This year’s edition highlights South Indian heritage, featuring Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry, with a special focus on their craftsmanship and cultural expressions.
  • More than 500 artisans and weavers are participating, displaying traditional handicrafts, handlooms, intricate brass work, and wooden crafts.
  • Over 400 artists will perform folk and classical dance and music, representing the vibrant artistic legacy of South India.
  • The first edition of the festival, held last year, focused on North-East India, attracting 1.3 lakh visitors and generating over Rs.1 crore in sales for artisans.
