Ajit Ratnakar Joshi Appointed as RBI Executive Director

On 5th March 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), appointed Ajit Ratnakar Joshi as Executive Director (ED), assigning him responsibility for the Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM) and the Financial Stability Department.

Ajit Ratnakar Joshi was promoted to Executive Director (ED) from his previous role as Principal Adviser in DSIM, bringing extensive experience in statistics, information technology, and cyber risk management.
With over three decades of experience, he has played a crucial role in macroeconomic statistics, policy formulation, and financial data analysis, contributing significantly to RBI’s research and stability efforts.
Mr. Joshi has served on multiple committees and working groups focused on macroeconomic statistics, monetary policy, and financial stability, reinforcing RBI’s data-driven policymaking approach.
