Nationwide Campaign Launched for Fisheries Registration

On 14th Febraury 2025, the union government launched a nationwide registration campaign on the National Fisheries Digital Platform to help stakeholders’ access benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana.

The Ministry of Fisheries has announced that the campaign will run until February 22, focusing on accelerating registrations in key fisheries hotspots and potential areas across India.
This initiative aims to expedite the approval process for fisheries sector participants, ensuring they can access financial aid, insurance, and other scheme benefits.
Under the scheme, registered fishers and aquaculture farmers will gain improved access to institutional finance, including credit facilities and structured financial assistance.
The government also seeks to enhance value chain efficiencies, ensuring better market linkages, logistics support, and fish safety standards for sectoral growth.
By promoting digital registrations, the initiative is expected to formalize the fisheries sector and encourage more participation from eligible beneficiaries nationwide.
