  • Advanced Features and Capabilities: Equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and analytics, the system improves intelligence gathering, intrusion prevention, and battlefield transparency for superior situational awareness.
  • Significance for Modern Warfare: Enables network-centric operations in conventional and sub-conventional settings, empowering commanders with data-driven, real-time decision-making capabilities.
  • Development and Indigenization: Jointly developed by the Indian Army and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) under the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, fostering self-reliance in defence technology.
  • Phased Rollout Plan: SANJAY will be deployed in operational Brigades, Divisions, and Corps of the Indian Army in three phases between March and October 2025.
  • Budget and Strategic Alignment: Developed at a cost of Rs 2,402 crore, the project aligns with the Ministry of Defence's ‘Year of Reforms’ and the Army's focus on technology adoption.
