Bharat Cleantech Platform

On 11th January 2025, Commerce Minister introduced the Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform to advance India’s leadership in sustainable energy solutions.

• The Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform was launched at the Bharat Climate Forum 2025 in New Delhi to bolster cleantech value chains in solar, wind, hydrogen, and battery storage.
• The platform aims to foster innovation and strengthen India's position as a global leader in sustainable technologies and clean energy solutions.
• Minister Goyal emphasized the need for the clean energy sector to move beyond dependence on Product Linked Incentives (PLIs) and subsidies for long-term growth.
• While acknowledging the role of the PLI scheme in kickstarting the clean energy sector, he called for self-sustainability as a critical goal.
• The initiative reflects India's commitment to achieving global sustainability goals by leveraging advanced cleantech manufacturing capabilities.
