​India Declares 2025 as Year of Reforms

On 1st January 2025, the Ministry of Defence declared 2025 as the Year of Reforms, focusing on transforming the Armed Forces through modernisation, technological advancements, and improved infrastructure.

• The goal is to create a technologically-advanced, combat-ready Armed Forces capable of multi-domain integrated operations by focusing on emerging technologies like AI, drones, and cyber warfare.
• Efforts will be made to bolster defence manufacturing and improve procurement processes, enabling quicker and more efficient operational capabilities.
• Infrastructure development will be prioritized to ensure better facilities and logistics for military forces, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
• The Ministry plans to enhance synergy between different branches of the Armed Forces, ensuring a more cohesive approach to national security.
• Technology transfer and knowledge sharing between the defence sector and civil industries will be promoted to strengthen public-private partnerships and improve business environments.
• India aims to position itself as a credible exporter of defence products by fostering Research and Development and boosting exports of advanced military technology.
