​PM Chairs 45th PRAGATI Meeting to Review Key Projects

On 26th December, 2024, Prime Minister chaired the 45th PRAGATI meeting, reviewing progress on critical infrastructure projects with a combined cost of over Rs. 1 lakh crore.

  • The session reviewed eight projects, including six Metro Urban Transport projects, one road connectivity project, and one thermal power project, all across various states and union territories.
  • PM emphasized the consequences of project delays, including cost escalations and delays in public access to the benefits, urging for increased efficiency at both Central and State levels to minimize such delays.
  • The meeting also focused on resolving public grievances in the banking and insurance sectors, with the Prime Minister acknowledging the reduced resolution time but calling for improved quality in grievance disposal.
  • The Prime Minister proposed workshops for cities implementing or planning Metro projects, aiming to share best practices and improve execution strategies across locations.
  • PM reviewed the rehabilitation and resettlement plans for families displaced by large infrastructure projects, instructing officials to ensure adequate amenities and maintain the standard of living for affected families in new locations.
