Tansen and Raja Mansingh Awards

On 18th December, 2024, the prestigious National Tansen Award and Raja Mansingh Tomar Award were presented at the renowned Tansen Festival in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Renowned tabla maestro Pt. Swapan Choudhary from Kolkata received the National Tansen Samman 2023, the highest national music honor in Indian classical music.
The award included an honorarium of Rs 5 lakh, a citation plaque, and traditional items like a shawl and shriphal.
The National Tansen Award is established by the Madhya Pradesh government in memory of Tansen, the legendary music emperor.
Sanand Nyas, an Indore-based institution promoting classical music, drama, and cultural festivals for 35 years, was honored with the Raja Mansingh Tomar Samman 2023.
The awards recognize extraordinary contributions to Indian classical music and cultural preservation.
