The bilateral naval exercise SLINEX-24 between India and Sri Lanka started from 17th -20th December 2024, at Visakhapatnam, focusing on maritime cooperation and security.

  • SLINEX-24, under the Eastern Naval Command, will occur in two phases: the Harbour Phase (December 17-18) and the Sea Phase (December 19-20).
  • Initiated in 2005, SLINEX has become a cornerstone for strengthening maritime collaboration between the two nations.
  • The Harbour Phase will feature professional and social exchanges to foster mutual understanding and camaraderie.
  • The Sea Phase will include joint operations such as gun firings, communication drills, navigation practices, helicopter operations, and Special Forces exercises.
