World Heritage Week 2024

In India, World Heritage Week 2024 is being celebrated from 19th -25th November, with the theme “Discover and Experience Diversity,” inviting travellers worldwide to explore the country's rich history.

World Heritage Week 2024 is observed annually to raise awareness about the importance of protecting cultural and natural heritage sites recognized by UNESCO.
The week’s origins trace back to UNESCO's initiative in 1945, created to foster moral and intellectual unity and support global peace in the aftermath of the world wars.
India’s Archaeological Survey (ASI) is marking this special week by offering free entry to heritage sites such as the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort on 19^th November, as part of its awareness campaign.
ASI has been entrusted with protecting over 3,650 heritage monuments and archaeological sites in India, spanning periods from prehistory to colonial times.
