India Conducts 'Sanyukt Vimochan 2024' HADR Exercise

On 18-19th November 2024, the Indian Army successfully conducted the ‘Sanyukt Vimochan 2024’ exercise, showcasing its disaster preparedness and response capabilities, with participation from both national and international agencies.

The exercise took place in Ahmedabad and Porbandar, Gujarat, and was led by the Konark Corps of Southern Command of the Indian Army.
The first day featured a Table Top Exercise focused on managing a cyclone disaster scenario in Gujarat, with key agencies like NDMA, GSDMA, and FICCI participating alongside armed forces officials.
On the second day, a Multi-Agency Capability Demonstration at Chowpatty Beach, Porbandar, highlighted coordinated logistics and rapid response to a simulated cyclone disaster, with multiple agencies such as the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, NDRF, and local forces involved.
The demonstration included search and rescue operations, casualty evacuation, and the resuscitation and rehabilitation of affected citizens, showcasing the collaborative approach to disaster management.
An Industrial Display was organized as part of the exercise, promoting India’s self-reliance in disaster response technology in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, with Indian defence industries showcasing their innovations.
