World Students’ Day

Observed annually on 15th October, World Students’ Day commemorates Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s enduring influence on education and his connection with students worldwide.

This day marks the birth anniversary of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India and a renowned scientist known as the ‘Missile Man of India.’
Dr Kalam contributed significantly to India’s space and missile programs, working with institutions like the DRDO and ISRO to advance scientific and technological progress.
Despite his professional achievements, Dr Kalam is most fondly remembered for his deep engagement with students, mentoring them and recognizing their potential to shape India's future.
After his presidency, he continued his passion for teaching at institutions like IIM Shillong, Anna University, and the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology.
Dr Kalam passed away in 2015 while delivering a lecture to students, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire young minds.
