Banjara Virasat Museum

On 5th October, 2024, Prime Minister inaugurated the Banjara Virasat 'Nagara' Museum in Pohradevi, Washim, dedicated to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Banjara community.

  • The museum, located in Pohradevi, a site revered as the "Kashi of the Banjara Community," holds deep spiritual significance for the Banjara people.
  • This five-story museum offers a comprehensive exploration of the Banjaras' history, culture, and way of life through 13 galleries featuring portraits, artifacts, and historical exhibits.
  • The exhibits showcase a range of traditional items, including tools, clothing, jewelry, and interactive displays like virtual reality experiences, immersing visitors in the Banjara lifestyle.
  • The museum is part of a broader development project spearheaded by Guardian Minister, aimed at preserving Banjara heritage while promoting tourism and cultural growth in the region.
