'White Revolution 2.0'

On 19th September 2024, Union Home Minister launched ‘White Revolution 2.0’, aimed at empowering women through dairy cooperatives and fighting malnutrition by increasing milk procurement.

- Combatting Malnutrition: White Revolution 2.0 also addresses malnutrition by increasing milk availability for poor and malnourished children.
- Support for Animal Husbandry: The initiative also incorporates efforts to enhance land fertility through animal husbandry.
- Financial Inclusion Through Cooperatives: The initiative “Cooperation among Cooperatives” has been tested in Gujarat’s Panchmahal and Banaskantha districts.
- Supporting Model: It opened over four lakh bank accounts in cooperative banks, deposited Rs. 550 crore, issued 20,000 credit cards, and enabled 24 lakh digital transactions, empowering women financially. This model is now being expanded nationwide.
