President to Inaugurate 8th India Water Week

On 17th September, 2024, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 8th edition of India Water Week, focusing on water security and management.

The event will be held from September 17-20, 2024, with over 4,000 delegates expected to attend from various sectors.
The theme for this year's India Water Week is ‘Partnerships and Cooperation for Inclusive Water Development and Management’, highlighting collaborative efforts for water security.
Multiple sessions will address crucial issues related to water management, including flood control, drinking water supply, and sanitation practices.
The event will feature participants from several countries, although China and Bangladesh have opted out of participation this year due to current circumstances.
Experts, government officials, and representatives from NGOs and civil society will engage in discussions aimed at developing inclusive water management strategies.
The Jal Shakti Ministry emphasizes the importance of international collaboration to address water-related challenges, with participation from academic institutions and global water experts.
