On 17th September, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra launched Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana and several significant railway and national highway projects which coincides with his 74th birthday.
- Subhadra Yojana, named after the Goddess Subhadra, will provide Rs 50,000 over five years to eligible women aged 21-60, distributed as Rs 10,000 annually in two installments.
- The scheme aims to benefit over 1 crore women, with PM Modi initiating the fund transfer for more than 10 lakh women during his visit.
- PM will also inaugurate and lay the foundation for railway projects worth Rs 2,800 crore and national highway projects exceeding Rs 1,000 crore.
- Additionally, he will release the first installment of assistance to nearly 10 lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) for around 14 states.
- The event will feature Griha Pravesh ceremonies for 26 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY (Gramin and Urban), where the PM will hand over house keys to recipients.
- PM will launch the Awaas+ 2024 App for surveying additional households under PMAY-G and introduce operational guidelines for PMAY-Urban 2.0 before returning to the national capital.
