India's First Ready-to-Drink Fig Juice Exported to Poland
- 21 Aug 2024
In a significant move to elevate India's agro-products globally, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the export of India's first ready-to-drink fig juice, crafted from the GI-tagged Purandar figs, to Poland.
Key Points
- Unique Qualities of Purandar Figs: Purandar figs, renowned for their distinctive taste and texture, boast high pulp content and are a rich source of vitamins and minerals.
- Their excellent sweetness, vibrant violet color, and specialties are attributed to the region's unique climatic conditions, red-black soil, and salt-free well irrigation techniques.
- Milestone Export to Poland: Since the first export of fresh GI-tagged Purandar figs to Hamburg in 2022, APEDA has closely collaborated with smallholder farmers to promote these unique products.
- APEDA's Support: APEDA's ongoing support and assistance have been crucial in the development and export of this product, showcasing India's potential in the global agro-product market.
