70th National Film Awards Winners Announced

The winners of the 70th National Film Awards were revealed on 16th August 2024, recognizing the best Indian films of 2022, with the awards ceremony to be held at a later date.

• The Malayalam-language film Aattam received the Best Feature Film award, highlighting its acclaim among this year's entries.
• Rishab Shetty won the Best Actor award for his role in Kantara, while the Best Actress award was jointly awarded to Nithya Menen for Tiruchitrabalam and Manasi Parekh for Kutch Express.
• Ponniyin Selvan: 1 emerged as the top winner, securing four awards in various categories.
• Sooraj Barjatya was honored with the Best Director award for Uunchai, and Neena Gupta won Best Supporting Actress for the same film.
• Pawan Malhotra received the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in Fouja.
• The Best Feature Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award went to Kantara, further solidifying its success.
• KGF: Chapter 2 won Best Action Direction, while Tiruchitrabalam was recognized for Best Choreography.
• AR Rahman and Pritam were awarded for Best Music Director, with AR Rahman recognized for Background Score and Pritam for Songs.
• Saudi Velakka CC.225/2009 featured in the Best Female Playback category with a performance by Bombay Jayashri, while Arijit Singh won Best Male Playback for Brahmastra.
