Commemorative Stamp on Singer Mukesh Released

On July 24th , 2024, the Union Culture Minister unveiled commemorative stamp in honour of the legendary singer Mukesh, marking his 100th birth anniversary.

Key Points

Mukesh was born on 22^nd July 1923 in Ludhiana.
In 1941 he recorded his first song for the Movie 'Nirdosh'.
Commemorative stamps are issued, as the name suggests, commemorating important events, prominent personalities in various fields, aspects of nature, beautiful or rare flora and fauna, environmental issues, agricultural activities, national/international issues, games etc.
These stamps are only available at Philatelic Bureaux and counters or under the Philatelic Deposit Account Scheme.
