First Woman to Summit Mt. Everest Three Times

On May 26th, 2024, Purnima Shrestha, a mountaineer from Gorkha, Nepal, and a professional photojournalist made history by becoming the first woman in the world to climb Mount Everest three times in a single season, achieving this remarkable feat in just 13 days.

Key Points

She first summited on May 12^th, supported by Phura Temba Sherpa. Second on May 19^th with Pasang Sherpa and third on May 26^th accompanied Karma Gyaljen Sherpa.
She has now climbed Everest four times, with a previous summit achieved in 2018.
She not only scaled Everest but also several other challenging summits, such as Manaslu, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, and Mount K2.
