Additional Directors in CBI

On 16th May, 2024, Senior IPS officers A.Y.V. Krishna and N. Venu Gopal have been appointed as additional directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), with tenures lasting until 2028 and 2027 respectively.

A.Y.V. Krishna, a 1995-batch IPS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, is currently the Inspector General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Krishna has been appointed as additional director of CBI with a tenure extending up to August 6, 2028.
N. Venu Gopal, also a 1995-batch IPS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, is currently serving as joint director in the CBI.
Gopal has been appointed as additional director of CBI with a tenure extending up to May 24, 2027.
Both officers have had distinguished careers in various capacities within the Indian Police Service.
These appointments are expected to bring significant expertise and leadership to the CBI.
