On April 2024, entrepreneur and pilot Gopi Thotakura selected as one of six crew members for Blue Origin’s NS-25 mission.
- Thotakura to become the first Indian space tourist and second Indian to venture into space after Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma.
- Flight date for NS-25 mission yet to be announced by Blue Origin.
- New Shepard programme by Blue Origin aims for seventh human flight with this mission.
- Thotakura, a pilot and aviator, co-founder of Preserve Life Corp, with extensive experience in flying various aircraft.
- Other crew members include Mason Angel, Sylvain Chiron, Kenneth L. Hess, Carol Schaller, and former Air Force Captain Ed Dwight.
- Each astronaut to carry a postcard to space on behalf of Blue Origin’s foundation, Club for the Future, aimed at inspiring future generations in STEAM fields.
